This day of study will explore the major shifts in constitutional procedure and law in the criminal, antiterrorism, capital punishment, and domestic security arenas over the period 1990-2010 in the United States, with a particular emphasis on punitive preventive mechanisms, the death penalty, punishment theory, and anti-terrorism efforts (at both the domestic and
international levels).
The purpose of this day of study is to stimulate a robust conversation between scholars and practitioners in the United States and in France, and it will strive to foster dialogue and exchange with the audience.
